Closer as time goes by
The Darker 2nd EP
Our newest EP, Closer As Time Goes By, was released one single at a time over the course of 6 months. Our EP was released as separate singles since we live 5 hours away and aren't able to meet up to write and record in person. We were also able to focus more on one song at a time and also helped speed up our process in getting songs out. This new EP is more experimental and is a more darker and depressing tone compared to our first EP, Nania, which had a more happy-go-lucky Indie Pop Rock feel to it. The lyrics do have some inside jokes and elements from The Brothers Caged lives, but deals more with the themes of having some strong nostalgia, afraid of the future, and wanting to go back to a specific time.
A Light-Hearted Debut EP
Nania is the origin of The Brothers Caged and shows the band's lighter side containing 4 tracks that are Indie Rock with some Pop Rock elements thrown in. The final track as a more experimental Indie Rock sound and shows a darker side which the next EP, Closer As Time Goes By, continues with this dark turn. Nania was released in Spring of 2017 and was written, recorded, mixed, and master within 9 months. Recording was done in Stately Wayne Manor Studios, PKB Studios, and Harbortowne Studios. The mixing was mainly handled in PKB Studios. This EP shows The Brothers Caged lyrical style which contains many inside jokes and elements from their lives.
